Thank you to everyone who helped and supported us at the When Words Fail, Music Speaks fundraiser event for Soldier On Canada. This live musical marathon took place on Saturday, July 18, 2020. We did some amazing things together and it’s because of you and your generosity that this event was a huge success! Thank you as well to all the wonderful artists who came out and shared their amazing talent and gift with us. We had a goal of a $1,000, and not only did we reach it, we surpassed it by 4 times!

About me

Rick Currie, also known by his stage name DJ Ricky Recon, is an established DJ and entertainer. With over 25 years of experience in the music and entertainment industry, he has strived to ensure that his clientele is the star of the show. With his vibrant and dynamic personality, he has the natural ability to take control of the dance floor and to energize the crowd.

Rick Currie is originally from New Brunswick, Canada, but has called Ontario home for the last 20 years.

His love of music and entertainment started very young when he was called to take over a school dance as the DJ. It is from all these school dances and events that his love and fire to entertain continued to grow. He pursued his passion and worked for a radio station in Kingston as well as for many mobile DJ companies that focused on corporate, weddings and high school events before opening his own mobile DJ entertainment business Step Into The Beat in 2013.

His commitment, dedication and discipline to the craft can be attributed to his 20 years of Canadian Armed Forces service, where he is still an active serving member to this day.
